The Register Star recently published an article on the revitalization efforts taking place in Valatie and it mentions our new shop, Beaver Mill Antiques.
From the article:
Located at 3045 Main St., Beaver Mill Antiques and building owner Joe Herwick said that he is making preparations to take part in the October artisan event.
“I definitely want to be part of that. I will have a soft opening and participate by hosting local artists on the patio area,” Herwick said.
Herwick commented that attending last year’s VERA-sponsored Winter Walk in December afforded him the opportunity to look at the Main Street location.
“I attended last year’s Winter Walk with my family, “ he said. “Everyone was very welcoming. It seems like a nice community. It’s a sleepy, yet vibrant Main Street with a central location that’s close to Albany and Hudson.”
He is in the process of moving his family from Greene County to Columbia County.
“We started looking around last Winter,” Herwick added.
Beaver Mill Antiques will feature quality antiques, collectibles along with vintage and antique jewelry, he said. Situated across from the Beaver Cotton Mill Overlook, the store name was inspired by a combination of the Beaver Kill Falls and the Cotton Mill that once stood across the street.
“I am excited to add to the growing business community in Valatie,” Herwick added.
